In cases where program rules and regulations are violated, PHAs must take the necessary action to correct the violation. Common violations include:
In most cases, program participants who violate the rules are often met with PHA determined terminations. If the PHA decides to terminate participation, the family can exercise their right to an informal hearing.
- Failure to report changes in family situation (income, household composition, ect.)
- Evictions processed with the courts
- Landlord Failure to properly maintain unit
- Criminal Activity
When landlords violate their responsibilities, the PHA may terminate the HAP contract and require family to move IF the landlord is unable to or unwilling to correct the issues.
